To the Fort Hood Thirteen
What a sad day
When evil seizes greatness
Turns it into futility
Where once life was of great meaning
Thrust into the fog of war
Undeclared and otherwise
To walk the eternal darkness.
But evil always forgets
That greatness is divine
And divine will guide them always
Away from the edge of shame and pain
To the halls of goodness and honor
And on to the gates of Heaven
To stand the final guard over their brethren.
